Fjaðrárgljúfur Canyon
Fjaðrárgljúfur is a canyon in south east Iceland. The Fjaðrá river flows through it. The canyon has steep walls and winding water. It is up to 100 m deep and about 2 kilometres long. It is located near the Ring Road, not far from the village of Kirkjubæjarklaustur. Its origins dates back to the cold periods of the Ice Age, about two million years ago.

Fjaðrárgljúfur Canyon
- We slept about 4h in the car and woke up at 6:00am. When we hiked this place we were in the fog but at least we found this gorgeous point of view and we spent some times after the shoot to enjoy the view. It was one of the best Canyon I’ve ever seen in my life and I could stay here for a while.

- Before we went to Iceland we had seen impressive photos of a canyon south of Vik called Fjaðrárgljúfur. Looked really interesting so we decided to go and see what it is all about. And yes, Fjaðrárgljúfur was really breath taking. You need to make a stop here if you are in the area.
